It is every Christian’s responsibility to read and study the Word of God. The Apostle Paul tells Timothy, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” This is not just advise for the early Christians, it is advise for all of us today.
The Bible is the Book of books and it has been preserved for our learning. God’s Word says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” These two verses in Second Timothy tell how the Bible was written, why the Bible was written and what happens when we read it!
